I woke up about 4:30am and instead of starring at the ceiling for a few hours, I decided to head down to the beach to see if I could catch the sunrise.

It was a lovely morning spent down the beach, having a cheeky dip, and just taking in the beauty of this otherworldly place.

Our villa is in a great location with restaurants nearby and a little shop, but to have access to other spots on the island, we had to get some transport.

We got up early to take a taxi from the hotel to the airport, fly to Phuket, taxi again to Ban bang rong pier, longboat it to Koh yao noi, and finally tuktuk it to our villa.

Up and out of bed early to get some breakfast and wander over to the The grand palace.

Lots of walking today, exploring Bangkok by foot. Apple fitness says we managed about 16.4km in total, not bad at all.

Rang in the new year in Dubai airport watching the fireworks over the Burj Kalifa on tv with a few beers in the Budweiser Bar.
