As work has been pretty full on these past few weeks, I decided to leave the laptop closed and savour every moment of this past Easter Bank Holiday Weekend, and boy did I do just that!

Easter Friday Ride to Brighton 🐣

To kick things off with, on Friday my mate and I made our way down to Brighton on the bikes. We left about 5:30am to beat some of the traffic and ☀️ and our route was pretty spot on (thanks Komoot) it was a beaut of a ride with some trails, and used cycle ways as much as possible. It’s about 100km route passing by Farthing Downs, Gatwick Airport, and the famous Devil’s Dyke climb.

Once we arrived in Brighton, we grabbed some customary (vegan) fish and chips, and a few well earned beers, relaxing in the sun and resting the legs.

Saturday Parkrun, Walk, and BrewDog

I don’t know how I managed to drag myself out of bed and over to Mile End for Parkrun the next morning but I’m glad I did. After my mediocre 5km jaunt, we headed over to The O2 to shop for some running gear but as Nike was closed, we just headed back to Canary Wharf and tried out BrewDog’s burgers – not bad, not great is my verdict.

Sunday Roast

Sunday was a chill day, and I basically spent the day eating and watching netflix. Breakfast was basically home made brownie and ice-cream while I watched Joker, until dinner time, which was a lamb roast – of my favourite dinners of all time, followed by home made apple & blackberry crumble.

Monday Walk to Big Ben and Surprise Hot Cross Buns

Last day of the weekend and I decided a walk wouldn’t be a bad idea to burn off some of the goodies of the previous day, so we walked to Big Ben (Elizabeth Tower) to see it without the scaffolding.

Once there and feeling a bit peckish, we headed over to our new favourite bakery in Bermondsey for a pastry and coffee before returning home. Back home via the Uber boat, ya know – to be extra touristy and all, I got a knock on the door from Deliveroo and was sent hot cross buns and a lemon curd chick by my friend!

What an absolutely perfect weekend 🐣
